Context

A common LiveFlow use-case is to import Transaction Detail or List reports into Google Sheets and add comments for clarity to the bookkeeping or accounting team.

However, as of Oct 2023, it's important to note that QuickBooks transactions and user comments in the sheet don't sync.

Here's an example

We have a Transaction Detail report filtered for "Uncategorized Expenses."

Our team adds comments to specify the correct GL account for each transaction.

However, after categorizing the transaction in QuickBooks and refreshing the report, the comments no longer align with the correct rows.

The solution

Disable auto-refresh on the Transaction report you are running with this data.

This way, you can:

  1. Collect all the information you need about the given transaction

  2. Once you info for all your transactions, make all the updates in QuickBooks

  3. Head back into LiveFlow and refresh your report manually.

Here is how to disable auto-refresh for one single report in LiveFlow:

  1. Open LiveFlow

  2. Go to Manage Reports

  3. Find the report you want to disable auto-refresh for

  4. Click on the blue toggle on/off icon next to the report. Make sure to toggle it off.

  5. Done!
