Method 1: Add the client as a Viewer in LiveFlow

  1. Open LiveFlow

  2. Click on your workspace icon

  3. Go to members

  4. Insert the email address of the user you want to invite

  5. Select their access level

    1. Admin: An admin can manage everything on the account and access all features.

    2. Editor: An editor can create reports, manage existing reports, refresh reports, and drill down into reports.

    3. Viewer: A viewer can only refresh existing reports and drill down into reports.

Method 2: Add the client as a Viewer to the Google Sheet

  1. Click on Share in the top right of your Google Sheet

  2. Type in the email address of the client

  3. Select Viewer in the dropdown

  4. Click Send

    1. Viewers cannot edit your Google Sheet

Method 3:

Use Protect Sheets and Ranges - this option will protect content (complicated formulas, raw data resources, a series of calculations) in your spreadsheet by preventing intentional edits and unintentional changes by those who have access to your Google Sheet.

  • This option is useful is your client, department head, or various other individual needs access to a certain portion of a spreadsheet to collaborate, but doesn't need access to all tabs or cells.

  • Think of Protect Sheets and Ranges as a child-lock to formulas you don't want being altered or for certain tabs that have no use to your spreadsheet collaborator.

Method 4:

Publish to Web - this option allows you to send a new URL to a client or stakeholder, and allows them to see specific or all of the contents of your spreadsheet - without being able to edit it.

  • This option is useful if you want to turn your spreadsheet into a live dashboard with only the metrics that matter to your client
